This series addresses the carnal, mammalian experience of reproduction: sex, childbearing, breastfeeding, and the psychological influence postpartum depression has on new mothers. Most often, this condition is missed by physicians, despite the prevalence of questionnaires and information online. The title of the condition misrepresents it, as many new mothers experience anxiety over depression. Additionally, societal pressure around experiencing the joy of motherhood cause women to downplay their experiences.
