I’ve found that most communication is miscommunication, the merging of thought and voice combined as casualties of misinterpretation. This evidence emerges in personal and professional relationships, the media, and in our classrooms – in printed and verbal form. Teachers, well versed in assessing comprehension in all of its forms, are well aware of this human condition, this human condition of the problem with language.

This Goes Here, That Goes There, touches upon this dilemma, rooted in categorizing gone awry. Structuralism defined clear boundaries and categories; a place for each truism, a right and a wrong. Post-structuralism’s disassembling of the Grand Narrative has created a blur in these boundaries, allowing the dialogue to open up.
